Psalm 9:4 – God is on my Side

The Daily Devocast brings you daily encouragement from God’s word. Today’s devotional message God is on my Side is based on Psalm 9:4.

4 You have proved that I haven’t done anything wrong. You have sat on your throne and judged fairly.

(New International Reader’s Version, Psalm 9:4)

Do you have days where you feel like the whole world is against you? You know, no matter how hard you try to push through or get past something, you just keep hitting a wall. Sometimes these circumstances are of our own doing and other times it’s due to the decisions of others. No matter the cause, when we arrive at that place where we’re exhausted and have run out of steam, we need God to step in and advocate for us, to direct us towards the closure and resolution for the problem we’re facing.

What is that immovable boulder barring progress in your life today? It’s time to ask God for some divine leverage to help you move the boulder out of the way so forward momentum can continue.

Prayer: Father, today we ask you to show up as the God who gives us divine leverage. We pray for your assistance in getting that immovable boulder in our life unstuck, so we can continue making forward progress towards closure and resolution. Amen.

Action Step: Spend a few extra minutes alone with God today. During that time I want you to visualize that immovable boulder in your life suddenly becoming dislodged. It’s no longer a barrier to you. How do you feel? What’s the expression on your face? Take a few moments and rest in what that freedom feels like. Ask God to show you the path to making what you just visualized a reality. Be sure to write anything significant God shows you in your journal.
