The Daily Devocast brings you daily encouragement from God’s word. Today’s devotional message No More Striving is based on Psalm 46:10.
“Cease striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
(New American Standard Bible, Psalm 46:10)
As we move further along on the journey of healing from fear, anxiety, and worry, we eventually arrive at a place where we’re no longer striving to fix or repair our circumstances. We begin to operate out of this new realm of peace and rest that comes from knowing God.
Operating out of this new space of freedom and wholeness, we’re freed up to begin stepping into the calling and destiny God has written over our lives. The closer we grow to Him, the more we’ll begin to understand that all of our divine assignments are a part of walking out our part in making the name of the Lord great on our street, in our city, in our state, in our nation, and ultimately across the entire globe.
Prayer: Father, as you bring us into a new place of healing and wholeness, we ask that you’d show us how to cease striving. We’ve been conditioned to go it alone, trying to succeed mostly through our own efforts. Show us what it means to be in total partnership with you, operating from a place of divine peace and rest. Amen.
Action Step: Is there a place in your life where you’re striving? Perhaps there is shame and guilt that has been preventing you from bringing God into that circumstance. My challenge to you today is to be bold. Face that difficult thing head-on and invite God to enter into that situation, asking Him to show you how to begin moving forward in His strength instead of your own.
