Psalm 138:3 – Empowered by Holy Strength and Courage

The Daily Devocast brings you daily encouragement from God’s word. Today’s devotional message Empowered by Holy Strength and Courage is based on Psalm 138:3.

At the very moment I called out to you, you answered me! You strengthened me deep within my soul and breathed fresh courage into me.

(The Passion Translation, Psalm 138:3)

Generally, when people ask us how we’re doing, we simply say that we’re fine, regardless of the hell we might be facing behind the scenes. I know that we’re all often hesitant to speak the honest truth about our personal circumstances due to shame, embarrassment, or simply because we suspect the other person really doesn’t care.

The encouragement I have for you today is that God truly cares. In fact, He’s waiting to hear from you right now. So, where are you struggling today? Surely there’s a place in your life that would benefit from an injection of holy strength and courage. Let’s bring that struggle to the Lord and ask Him to show up in our lives today.

Prayer: Father, we ask that you’d give each of us boldness to come before you in all honesty and truth. Give us the strength and courage we need to share those most difficult struggles with you, the places where we really need you to show up today. We ask that you’d impart divine solutions to our problems and that you’d keep us near as our individual situations get resolved. Amen.

Action Step: Any time you feel overwhelmed by that big struggle in your life today, get quiet and ask God to give you the strength and courage to get to the other side of this difficulty. Note any specific direction or encouragement God gives you in your journal.
